For the American Chamber of Commerce it seems very hard to realize that we have entered the age of the internet. Today they will hold in Shanghai a press conference on the White Paper they have published on doing business.
That is awful kind of them, but they already held the same press conference in Beijing yesterday, we have already digital copies of their White Paper and even worse, our Beijing colleagues have already written about it. IPR is the major issue, writes the New York Times today. It praises China for opening up the markets, writes the Strait Times. Although there are still many complaints, writes Forbes.
The China Daily goes of course for the most positive angle: most foreign companies make money in China.
Why should I go there? Maybe to explain to them why so few of my colleagues will show up: it is around the corner anyway.
