traffic - A right turn Beijing style
Only a few days in Beijing showed that the traffic can indeed be much worse than in Shanghai. While in Shanghai we can lose our time sitting comfortably in reasonably large, clean taxis, in Beijing they are small, cramped and dirty. The Beijing municipality is actually doing a lot to keep people on the road, a friend told me. He showed me this picture of a crossing in Beijing, where the government instructs drivers how to take a right turn, coming from the left on the picture. They should follow the yellow line, not the red one. Seems like a bit of a detour.
