Are we doomed ?- follow up

Reader Rob Creemers writes, after reading my previous WTO-column Are we doomed? that he just finished reading the book "Collapse: How societies choose to fail or survive" by Jared Diamond. "It makes you feel cold," he writes.

"I TOTALLY AGREE with your comment about the stores air conditioning/cooling the STREETS, and personally said something to the Xu Hui mayor at an AmCham meeting. His reply: “We need fresh air….”. He just didn’t get it at all. What is needed is a major educational campaign, which the government is good at. The focus of the campaign should be on energy conservation."
