economy - Textile business "as usual"

If I would be organizing an international textile fair in Shanghai next month, I would be a bit in a panic. Millions of Chinese textile products are stopped by customs in Europe and a similar problems is emerging in the US. The suggested solution for the European problem, using the quota of next year, does not solve the real problem.

But the organizers of the fair in Shanghai keep good faith, according to this classic propaganda piece by state news agency Xinhua:

The fair will be held simultaneously with a high-level forum on hot issues in terms of transnational garment purchase and the trend of the trade.

Well, they have for sure something to talk about.

"Restrictions on Chinese textiles cannot reverse the inevitable trend of global trade integration, nor will they discourage worldwide buyers from buying cost-effective Chinese products," said Tian Hao, managing director of Shanghai Mart.

That is of course correct, but I do not see how Tian Hao will deal with the problems in the short run.
