internet - Deleting a protest

Can you delete a protest from the internet. Some people think so, reports Interfax (noted by China Digital Times). The famous BBS Yannan community has ordered its unruly participants to stop discussing grassroot democracy and the protest at Taishi after the brutal murder of four people by a migrant worker from Ningxia.
The Yannan Community (http://bbs.yannan.cn) posted an official announcement on Wednesday September 21, urging all forum administrators to delete articles relating to the two sensitive topics on the BBS site. The BBS, frequented by Chinese academics, thinkers and critics, is famous for its open topics and heated debates
The China Digital Times has abundant links to the incident.
