internet - From the Shanghai webloggers...
As announced I joined the Shanghai webloggers meeting this evening, and noted that because of the large number of people present (about 20, they lied) there was a severe shortage of pizza. Life of webloggers in China is indeed not easy.
Unfortunately, the quality of the sound was not good, as you can hear here. I used powergramo to record my SkypeOut conversation, but when we used Skype, that had a much better quality, the recording did not take place. No clue yet what happened.
But I can tell you that they estimate the number of webloggers in China on 6 million. The source of that rumor was me, and so they discovered an important way how traditional journalists get authority. They first spread a rumor and then write it down from somebody else. Then it sounds much more trustworthy.
Additionally they said Wikipedia was still blocked, but that did not bother them, since the proxies are still up and running, passing all IP-blocks.
Update: Well, it seems possible, but I do hope other hosting services will come very fast for my podcasts. When I get a substantial number of MB's in I might be running out of steam very soon.
