Internet – Google "negotiated" the unblocking of blogspot domains

Simon World points at some interesting blogs that suggest Google has been negotiating the get their ‘blogspot’ domain names recently unblocked. The information comes from a blog by a Microsoft engineer in China, their competitor. While it all sounds rather logical, still a source that should be treated with caution.

Google had of course a major problem in China, with Microsoft’s Spaces moving ahead in producing giant numbers of weblogs, while its service was already blocked for three years.

I think the suggestion by the Forest Advances that a simple bribe might have solved the problems, does not seem likely. Some decisions are just to sensible that even offering compensation might bring you more problems and this seems one of those areas. But much is negotiable and the complaint of being treated unfairly could work indeed.
