economy- Official: Guangzhou has highest income

Official figures indicated that urbanites in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong, are having the highest personal income, even higher than in Shanghai. At least, that is what Xinhua says, and as you might know I'm highly sceptical about those figures.
People in Guangzhou earned on average 10,990
Renminbi (USD 1,300) in the first half of 2005, higher than those in Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing. It was not right away clear how the figures had been collected.
Mostly, a large part of the revenue streams are kept under wraps and there are no real methods to verify this kind of figures.
