scenes after the riots in April

protest - Officials Dongyang-riot sacked

China has seen over 2005 many riots, but a few of them caught the attention of a larger audience. The Dongyang riot in April is one of them and like for example in the case of the Dingzhou-riot, local officals have gotten into hot water.
In this case they got fired, says Reuters, quoting the official newsagency Xinhua:
Tang Yong, the former party secretary of Dongyang city in the wealthy eastern province of Zhejiang, and ex-mayor Chen Fengwei had been fired, Xinhua cited an official government circular as saying late on Friday.
The chemical plants at the center of the riot have been closed down, the dispatch says. Unlike in the Dingzhou-case, where people died, here no criminal charges seem to have been brought in.
