Carrefour in Chinaeconomy - The subtle difference between turnover and profitability
The French retailer Carrefour has increased its turnover last year almost 25 percent, says an figures article by XFN-Asia, based on figures of the Ministry of Commerce. Sounds good, doesn't it? Corporate spindoctors could not have done this better! The article gives already a clue why their revenue went up: they opened 16 more stores. It does not say anything about the profitability.
