economy - Remember the Landwind?Maybe you do not recognize this picture, but this is the Chinese Landwind without having done a crash test. Last year, not surpringly during a car show in Frankfurt, the media reported that the Dutch ANWB said crash tests had proven the car was a 'killer application'.
On my way back from China I discussed with a business man working in the automotive industry in China about the future of the Chinese car. He was more optimistic about the progress in China than I was, recalling also the Landwind-issue.
"But you never got the news the Dutch test was recalled," he asked.
I checked it today and the truth was even worse than I feared. I had written myself about the German colleagues of the ANWB who had serious doubts about the Dutch test. Very weird how selective your own mind can work. The Landwind is approved for the European market and the competion might come faster from China than we expect.
