tourism - Venice, Nice, Cannes

That was the top-3 list of destinations my Chinese in-laws reported when they returned yesterday from a 13-day tour through Europe. They joined a tour group that consisted mainly out of Chinese from the US and seemed pretty happy with the procedings, although 20 minutes for Rome was too short according to any standard. Giving a solid verdict on those cities is then also pretty hard.
They did not mention other cities or countries they had been in like Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg or Germany. What made them like southern Europe was especially the weather and again, the impressive buildings in Venice. They disliked the French most of all people they met, since the French even did not bother to communicate with them, even when they tried to buy things. Unlike the Italians, they were very charmed by the Italians, who did not stop communicating.
Shocking for everbody were the European prices, for those coming from China and the US. Since breakfeast was included in the trip that was also in terms of eating the highlight of the trip. Otherwise they mainly relied on McDonalds where the prices were at least affordable, they told me.
