media - 51jobs: online replacing print in large cities

China's leading job recruiting company 51jobs.com reports in its conference call on Q2 2006 earnings that in the large cities the print market is fast replaced by other tools for recruitment, including online recruiting.
CEO Rich Yan:

In fact, in early 2004, growth rates in print were actually higher than those of online. However, growth rates in the print segment have declined significantly in the past two years.... I think it is probably fair to say that the differential growth rates between print and online is higher in the larger cities, meaning that online is growing faster, much faster, than the print segment or print market in the larger cities.

Since the larger cities dominate in the online presence, it is not strange online it growing there faster.
