Wang Jianzhou

telecom - China Mobile wants it 50 percent cheaper

Getting gold nuggets is easier than getting quotes from the chairman of China Mobile, Wang Jianzhou. But the FT got it, here quoted in The Inquirer. You might think Wal-Mart is bad for its suppliers? Try China Mobile.
But in his comments about his company´s recent acquisition of China Resources Peoples in Hong Kong, Mr Wang said,"We do central procurement so our cost is low. Since, we bought Peoples, it only has to pay half of what it used to pay for the same equipment.
This come to stories in the market telling how this de-facto monopolist just does not pay, even what they have to, or change the contracts without even a prior announcement. Very useful when this market gets a little bit more competition, at least for the suppliers.
