internet - The importance of weblogs for portals

China Web2.0 Review summerizes some nice figures on the importance of weblogs for the Chinese portals(originally from Loverty ). Especially QQ's weblogs are doing pretty good as they attract 19 percent of the overall traffic, 11 percent for Sina and 8 percent for Sohu. Baidu and Netease generate only one percent of their traffic through weblogs.
What strikes me is that 19 percent of the traffic for QQ is actually their most popular service and 8 percent for Sohu their second most popular. That means they have a really wide variation of services that are relatively popular. Guess it is a good idea not to have all eggs in one basket.
