internet - Sohu fined for supposed slander

A Shanghai court has awarded Hua Wei, a Fudan professor, 5,000 renminbi in damages from Sohu.com, says the China Tech News. In August a professor from Nanjing also got compensated for online slander. While the amount is pretty low, the pressure on online services to clean up their act might increase as the numbers of possible victims might be pretty high.
