labor - The Wal-Mart deals

Now, this might my suspicious Chinese instinct playing up, but I have the feeling there is something fishy going on. The much speculated deal between Wal-Mart and Taiwanese supermarket chain Trust-Mart for US$ one billion. The deal still has to be announced, also pending permission from the Chinese regulators. This comes only weeks after Wal-Mart was seeing the last of its Chinese outlets being unionized. I'm adding both things up: it looks like Wal-Mart got a sweetener for its ACFTU-deal. No proof, just my instinct.
