internet - Microsoft less than consistent on China

Being a senior policy councel for Microsoft is not an easy task. Fred Tipson attends an international meeting on Internet Governance in Athens. First Mr. Tipson joins the other US IT companies like Yahoo, Google and Cisco in defending their strategy for remaining in China and actually in the case of Yahoo supporting that they handed over evidence that has put the journalist Shi Tao in jail for ten year. And then he suggests Microsoft might pull out of China, when more webloggers end up in jail. Since Microsoft is still expanding their R&D in China, I do not think we should take the last statement too serious.
