Kazakhstani colleague reporting from the USngo's - Foreign Correspondents Club needs a meeting place
Earlier this week I attended my first meeting of the Shanghai Foreign Correspondents Club this year. The meeting itself was interesting enough, but the conditions have changed a bit. We met at Face and while people downstairs were enjoying their happy hour, we had to pay full prices. Even the traditional snacks we would get to stop our rumbling stomachs from disturbing the meeting were lacking. The meeting room was really up-scale, but actually too small if your really have a high turn-out.
Duncan Hewitt of Newsweek who organized the meeting told it was nowadays really hard to find good meeting places.
Are there any suggestions out there for other meeting places? The meeting does not need any up-scale wining and dining: that can also be organized in an informal way. A projector and internet connections would actually be more important.
PS: Any sightings of Borats movie on the DVD-market? Would be nice for a small scale viewing.
A Borat spoof
