Philip said...: There's a story in the photos of Olympic Volunteers displaying the 3 finger "Peace Plus One" Sustainability Symbol... It's about the GREEN OLYMPICS and optimism for the future.

In spite of all the negative commentary about police "crack-down" on Chinese and foreigners in Beijing, my personal experience is quite the contrary... every encounter I have had with authorities here in Beijing has been cordial and respectful of our intentions and efforts to communicate a positive message of balance and awareness of our personal opportunities to promote harmony in SOciety the Environment and Economy.

As a foreigner volunteering my time, I find our Chinese hosts very welcoming and apologetic for any inconveniences that foreigners might experience, especially on the language / communication issue.

The 3 finger Sustainability Symbol has already been introduced in the English media of China...
