Back to post-Olympic business
Picture by Dan WashburnWhile the world is still wondering while China will be post-Olympics different from pre-Olympic China, Shanghai was back to business with a storm and flooding, (Pictures at Shanghiist.)
The question in itself is a question that can only be asked by people who have missed the changes in China over the past two decades and do not realize that the Olympics are just a small ripple in a typhoon of change that continues to hit China.
We have another day for the Olympic hang-over, and then we will be back to business and back to regular change. But that might no longer be of interest for the world media.
Do expect that China will disappear from the world's radar screens, as other events seem superficially more interesting. The US conventions, for example. I will keep on focusing on China, that is in the end the more interesting place.

Exact the same, what I think about. Do you also give Informations about the Paralympics?
I'm very much afraid nobody in interested in the Paralympics. We now go over to Barack Obama in Denver.
Yes I also think the Paralympics is about almost "Zero" interest for the foreign media and most probably also for the normal 'Chinese spectator". Only in regards of the Visa policy it is unfortunately counting in: As the "Olympic Period" only ends on 17.10. (I do no know why it is that date - 1 month after the Paralympics end.....
Often the chineese People let us shown, how much inspired they follow accomplishments of the handicapped. That alone should be an reason to report from the paralympics.
If not anyone begins to tell about, the "zero"- interest will never change. Maibe the extraordinary atmosphere in Peking and Qingdao will help, to spend more interest on the great performences of the handikapped...
So I'll link your Site, up to after the paralympics (same as I did for the olympics). Perhaps you can give a little look at this.
Minh. Tuinstra: Niet alleen de chineese mensen hebben en groot hart voor gehandikapten ook de nederlandse, soveel ik weet. Friendelijke Groeten uit Düsseldorf.
