Damage control in milk powder case

via Wikipedia ChinaSmack comes with translations of earlier reports on the Sanlu milk powder case, showing that the case might have been discovered as early as May this year. It describes a post by a father whose child got sick:

Later, a reporter learned that Sanlu contacted “78900880088″, a 40-year-old father whose real name is Wang Yuan-ping, and offered to give him about 2476.8 RMB worth of milk products as long as he agrees to delete his previous posts complaining about Sanlu milk quality problems. The agreement is on the left.

Yet another example on how the internet is forcing Chinese institution, and not only there, to face the music. Not so long ago, those scandals would just be forgotten, but those chances are getting smaller day-by-day.

Update: Foreign partner says the Sanlu Group was warned six weeks ahead, but refused to take action, according to the BBC.
