by Zemanta via CrunchBaseA bit of an off-track matter for a China-related weblog, but people who read the China Herald on a regular basis, know why I want you to tell about today's new releases by Zemanta.When Zemanta started to help adding pictures, links, tags and other goodies to my weblog, I was sold right away. The service took over much of my manual linking work, dealt with copyright issues and opened new windows in my virtual reality. Today Zemanta has added a few new services that allows automatic linking to your own pictures and linking to twitter and weblog accounts.
Zemanta has seen since its launch 15,000 downloads and assists with about 1,000 weblog entries per day, a fairly modest success. "Most people who work with Zemanta are really enthusiastic," says Bostjan Spetic (@igzebedze) of the Slovenia-based service. "But most people would at first glance look at what we did not offer. Initially our databases were rather limited."
In March the company secured a USD 1.5 million first round of funding and is now launching three new features.
The database that suggest pictures, articles and other links has become now more personal. I can link directly to the twitter-accounts and weblogs by people I mention in this weblog. I can now also use my own pictures, my own Amazon-affiliate account and much more.
This is how my life online should be, but I also want to hear your experience. You have already seen a few features delivered by Zemanta and in the days to come more might show up. Do you find them helpful, you do not care, or do they annoy you?

I know this post is a bit old but I wanted to ask you if you are still using Zemanta.
I ask you this because I'm about to create a blog and I'm looking for a tool that can help me to find content easily however Zemanta uses a lot of information from Wikipedia, in fact I think is the biggest source of data...
Since I'm in China I think this may be a problem because at this moment the images from wikipedia are filtered out by the GFW.
I would appreciate if you could share with me any tip or tricks that you know about finding good and free content :)

Yes, I'm still an active use of Zemanta and they come up with regular improvements. You can source easy for pictures (free of copyrights), useful links, tags. While some other services like Google try to imitate some of Zemanta's offers, and might in the long run be able to replace them, at this stage Zemanta rules.
