China, Russia discuss how to replace the US dollar

I have not seen it that much on the English media, but the French are all over it: China's prime-minister Wen Jiabao and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin have been discussing the financial crisis and a possible replacement of the US dollar as the most dominant currency.
Getting some anti-American quotes from Putin has never been that hard, but now also China, holding the largest debts in US-denominations, tries to get on the same page. The question is still, what other currency could be in place. Experts do not expect the Chinese to accept the Russian one, and the Renminbi is an equally unlikely contestant.
The euro, is the consensus, could be the only existing currency able to take that role.

The jury is still out on China's future policies to shield itself from the global economic crisis. Confused? Try one of the leading experts on China's economy at the China Speakers Bureau.
